Luxury hotel in Prague is named as the best in Europe

Prague hotel U Zlaté studně has been voted Europe’s number one luxury hotel in Europe by the tourist website TripAdvisor. The five-star hotel, situated in the district of Malá Strana, was placed third in the worldwide ranking.
TripAdvisor was founded in 2000 and claims to be the largest travel site in the world. Its 60 million members submit independent reviews of places they have visited.
In addition to the luxury hotel list, TripAdvisor has a general hotel list, and Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa came in number 17 for Europe on that one. Alchymist also ranked number one in the Czech Republic.
U Zlaté studně Hotel, also called The Golden Well Hotel, has 1,434 user reviews raking it as excellent, with 59 very good, 14 average, eight poor and two terrible.
“A beautiful, quiet hideaway at the end of a narrow lane, tucked into the Castle Gardens. The staff is warm, welcoming and knowledgeable — we felt like family immediately,” stated one reviewer in a quote that was used in the list to highlight the top ranking.
The hotel had great views, but is a bit of climb to get to, and that is one complaint that some customers have.
Reviews of Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa tended to mention the décor. “Neither of us is into gold yet the abundance of it didn’t revolt us like it normally would since this old lady from the 16th century carries it like a charm. The staff are fabulously attentive. The location is perfect in a quite cul de sac opposite the American Embassy,” one reviewer said.
The list of best small hotels in the world also had a Prague winner, with Hotel Residence Agnes ranking at number 20. It was 10th for Europe.
It did even better in the best service list, coming in number one worldwide.
“The rooms were clean, spacious and updated, but the true highlight was the absolutely amazing service. I was blown away by the owner’s kindness,” one reviewer said.
