Marketing is a crucial to any business and business education is incomplete without it. But one needs to be equipped with the right tools to tackle this strategic monster and achieve success in your business efforts.
In collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce, our IT lecturer Jorge Carrillo conducted a workshop on How To Run A Marketing Campaign. The workshop covered important topics like privacy for marketing and trained them in using key tools & techniques for a successful marketing campaign. Two of our students, Anastasia Grigorieva and Fasanya Oluwaseun, took part in it and had an enriching experience.
“I’m happy that I was able to attend the event, although, the subject seemed to be irrelevant to my knowledge area, as I study web development. However, during marketing project lifecycle, even at the stage of planning, a number of specialist of different fields should be involved, including IT. The presentation helped me to see the process from the other (marketing) point of view. I became acquainted with the specifics of the marketing practices, and now I know what to pay attention to during the development phase. It was informative and useful to see how all the different business areas, such as marketing, development, design, are connected together,” said Anastasia.
Fasanya couldn’t agree more. “The event was really amazing. It was great that Jorge could gather together people from all walks. This ensured the conversations were balanced. Each of the guests contributed from different points of view and I learnt a lot from each of them. The small number of participants was also really nice because no one felt left behind and we were all carried along. It was more like a masterclass and I had a lot of fun,” said Fasanya.
